Las Vegas Grand Canyon Valentines Day Feb. 14 Helicopter Tours

Make this Valentine\’s Day holiday (Feb. 14) one to remember! Take a Las Vegas helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon. Pick from air-only or landing tours. But book soon. Seats are limited and prices tend to go up the closer we get to the flight time.

Las Vegas

The great thing about Las Vegas helicopters is that you get to go past Lake Mead and over Hoover Dam and the Colorado River en route to the National Park. Further, tours that land at the bottom are only available from Vegas, which make them extra special.

For Valentine\’s, I\’m recommending only deluxe tours. That\’s because they depart from the Vegas Strip and come with free hotel pick and drop off by limousine. These tours also include and extended tour over the Las Vegas Strip that starts from the Stratosphere Tower to the Luxor Pyramid.

Finally, deluxe tours use the EcoStar 130, which is the best and biggest helicopter flying the Canyon. Because of it\’s oversized cabin, the EC 130 is able to feature stadium-style seats and a massive 180-degree windshield. Plus it\’s aerodynamically designed to deliver the quietest and smoothest ride possible.

Champagne Picnic

My favorite landing tour is the one that goes to the base for a romantic Champagne picnic. If you want more, consider upgrading this package to include a boat ride down the famous Colorado River. You can also add tickets to the Grand Canyon Skywalk, a world-class attraction that lets you walk up to 70 feet over the edge until your are standing 4k feet over the bottom.

If the landing tour is out of budget, stick with the deluxe air-only package. It comes with free limo pick up and drop off and follows the same flight path as the landing tour, but instead of landing on the bottom, it hovers over the Canyon and cruises over its key landmarks before turning tail and heading back to the Las Vegas Strip.

Folks, make sure you book your Valentine\’s flight in advance. I usually recommend right after you get your hotel room. Vegas is super popular during V-Day and flights tend to sell out quickly, especially the deluxe ones that I noted earlier. And by all means make sure you purchase your tickets online. That\’s where the best deals are. Just make sure to complete your transaction online in order to qualify for the Internet discount rate.

It\’s winter here and so I advise dressing accordingly. The West Rim is more moderate in its temperatures and pretty much reflects the climate you\’ll experience in Las Vegas. The South Rim, by contrast, sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet and it\’s not uncommon for it to snow there. Caveat: Vegas helicopters only go to the West Rim. If you want to visit the South, I recommend the direct 60-minute airplane tour combined with a 30-minute heli ride.

Conclusion

I hope this article about Las Vegas Grand Canyon helicopter tours for the Valentine\’s Holiday proved helpful as you plan your trip. For this special romantic time, I\’m recommending only deluxe tours and specifically the one that goes to the bottom for a Champagne picnic. And don\’t procrastinate when it comes to booking your tour. Do it right after you get your hotel rooms. That way you\’ll be guaranteed seats at the lowest possible price.
