PGA Golf Tickets – Michelson Takes Down Tiger, Masters

Someone forgot to tell Phil Michelson that this recent Masters was supposed to be about Tiger Woods. As the gallery around Tiger swelled to unbelievable numbers and the media attention remained on perhaps the most polarizing figure in sports, Michelson posted the best Masters tournament in nearly a decade, finishing 16 shots under par and snagging his third green jacket. For the world’s second-most popular golfer, the weekend couldn’t have worked out much better.

Heading into the final round at the Masters, Michelson was in second place and in need of some key shots to get him over the hump. Michelson proved to be up to the challenge all day, however, as he posted a five-under 67 and finished the day with a birdie to cap off one the finest rounds of his career. With a series of impressive shots to save his round down the stretch, Michelson was able to hold off other challengers, finishing the tournament three shots ahead of Lee Westwood and five shots ahead of Woods.

For Michelson, the win wasn’t simply about his career, either; it was also Tadacip a symbol of hope for his ailing wife Amy. Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer 11 months ago and is still undergoing serious treatments, which kept her bed ridden for much of the tournament. Phil himself said that he wasn’t sure whether or not Amy would make it to the course as he wrapped up his third Masters victory. But Phil should have known better. As Michelson finished his round, Amy was waiting for him off the 18th green, creating a memorable moment that could lighten the mood of the most hardened cynic. What began as a tournament filled with banter about infidelities ended with a warm embrace between Amy and Phil, dwarfing the importance of the tabloid gossip surrounding Woods.

The other major victor was the average golf fan, who was treated to a great tournament of shot making and big names in contention. Whether you like him or not, Woods is always a story and his fourth place finish of -11 earned him a thunderous applause when he left the 18th hole at Augusta. Even if people claim to not like Woods, and there are many, a major golf tournament is always more intriguing when the world’s best overall player is in the mix.

On top of the instant gratification of watching Woods again mix it up with the best players in the world is what this should bring for future golf events. There has always been a budding rivalry between Woods and Michelson, though Woods’ overall dominance has suppressed it from reaching its true potential. After his hiatus, Woods appears to be as focused as ever on dominating the golf world and Michelson seems to be at the very height of his game. More than anything else, Michelson’s recent victory could be setting the table for a long and healthy rivalry that will certainly sell plenty of PGA Golf tickets.

A focused Woods said after the conclusion of the Masters that he would be taking a bit more time off to re-evaluate his life and his golf performance, but it’s unlikely that his second break will be nearly as long as the first. As Michelson looks Levitra to continue his current run of success, it’s likely that Woods will come back as motivated as ever, which should make for many interesting tournaments in the future. But no matter how focused Woods is in the future, Michelson made it clear in Augusta that you should never count him out. The same can be said of his wife Amy.
