Washington Wizards Tickets – John Wall is Right Direction for Wizards

It has been a rough couple of seasons for the Washington Wizards. After finally getting star Gilbert Arenas back for what should have been a full season in 2009-10, his off-court incident involving unloaded firearms turned the Wizards into a joke around the league, setting them up for a disastrous season in which they won just 26 games. The pile of losses did provide the opportunity to snag the number one overall pick in the recent draft, however, giving them the coveted prize of John Wall, who instantly has become the face of the franchise.

In the wake of the Arenas incident, Wall joins the team as a spectacular talent who can lead the Wizards out of the hole. At 6’4″ with great length, he has the size and athletic ability to be a superstar point guard and will almost definitely be the starter come the first game of the 2010-11 regular season. More importantly for the short-term, Wall will also help sell plenty of Washington Wizards tickets online.

But Wall is much more than a talented player that will help get butts into seats next season. At the age of just 19, Wall is already a very hard worker with a winning personality, which could definitely help repair the damage brought about by Arenas. And if there was ever a team that desperately needed an image makeover, it certainly would be the Washington Wizards. With Wall they have not only their future on the court but off the court as well – a part of the pro sports world that cannot be ignored.

On the court, though, Wall is a physical beast for his position. Some analysts have said that they’ve never seen a player wield the type of speed that Wall does on the court, making him a nightmare cover for opposing point guards and teams in general. With his combination of mental discipline, athleticism and speed, Wall projects as a top-tier defender as well, making him an all-around talent that can help a team win in a variety of ways.

With his considerable upside, there are of course a few things that he will have to improve, much like any player would have to do when taking the leap to the NBA. Though Wall is touted as a very good distributor, he’s also highly prone to turnovers, which is something he will have to limit at the pro level. On a team without many other scoring options, Wall will have to fight the urge to try to do too much. Wall also needs to work on his outside shooting to make defenders play him tighter in half-court settings. Though Wall isn’t as poor a shooter as a point guard like Rajon Rondo, a player who has found other ways to be dominant, improving his range and shooting consistency could take Wall to the next level.

More than anything, Wall also needs to be patient. The Wizards are not a step away from a title and it’s still very unclear what the Wizards are going to do with Arenas. Though the Wizards would love to trade him, his tremendous contract might make it difficult, which could in turn make life harder on Wall. The Wizards will also likely lose shooting guard Mike Miller, which could make court spacing more difficult next season. But with Wall’s mental pedigree, he should be able to navigate what could be a turbulent rookie season in the NBA.

Even with some issues right now on Cialis Jelly their roster, though, the Wizards do have other pieces to work with. One is Andray Blatche, their talented power forward who found his game in the middle of the season and was the Wizards’ best player for much of 2009-10. With a nice outside touch, Blatche averaged 14.1 points per game while shooting a nice percentage from both the floor and the free-throw line. If he can keep his head on straight and not butt heads with the coaching staff, Blatche could be a valuable asset who could work nicely with Wall.

John Wall was the obvious pick at number one for a reason, and the Wizards are certainly happy they were in position to grab him. After their horrendous 2009-10 season, it may have seemed that the Wizards were entering a dark era for the franchise. But with John Wall’s talent and attitude, Wizards fans were reminded that hope springs eternal.
