Why Should I Lease my Computer Network Equipment Instead of Buy?

Computer equipment is very important, and your network computers are even more so. You have things like routers, hubs, servers, etc. These are all very expensive, but you could actually choose to lease your equipment from certain companies rather than buying them. There are a whole host of benefits to this and they aren’t all price related.

Yes the equipment can be expensive. In fact you could pay in excess of a thousand pounds just for a decent CISCO router, but that’s really not the issue. The problem that you are going to run into is the question of time. As you probably know, there are plenty of updates released in both terms of firmware and hardware, and it can be very difficult to keep up with the game.

When you need to replace your hardware you will have to put down quite a bit of money if you want it to go smoothly. As you know, once you decide to upgrade you need to go for the best technology and network equipment, which means you will have to weigh your options and determine what you need and what you don’t. That is of course assuming that you purchased your equipment outright in the first instance.

If you lease your equipment however, it is a completely different story. You will actually be able to put down a fraction of the cost of the new equipment and get rid of it as soon as the lease has fully expired. Once the lease ends you can simply lease newer, more up to date hardware.

When you do lease your equipment however you will need to make sure that it does not become damaged during the length of time it is in your care. If it is damaged, you will, more likely than note, become liable for the costs incurred and may even have to buy the system outright. This, of course, would not be cheap.

Once you do return the hardware the company will most likely sell it, or lease it for a lower cost elsewhere. It will not get much out of it, but between the lease from your end, and the sale of the last generation hardware they will break even. In other words, this is a win-win situation for everyone.

Leasing your hardware is a great idea if you do not have any reservations about not actually owning the hardware you use. That being said, it’s time to start looking into companies that have lease options for the hardware. You can hire out just about anything these days, whether it is a server, a rack, hubs, routers, and anything else that you might need in a network.

With the cost of the technology, particularly at the upper end of the scale, buying all the networking equipment required to get a business up and running can be too much for some to swallow. Leasing provides a great alternative. Upfront costs are kept to a minimum and you still have all the benefits of having the latest and most effective networking technology at your fingertips.

Check prices, make sure that you are getting the best deal, and start making the arrangements. If you do it right, you will have a fully functional network for just a fraction of the cost.
