A good way to minimize damage is by taking in antioxidants, easily available in fresh fruits and vegetables. To make sure that you get the most nutrients out of them try to wash them first before actually peeling them, and not afterwards.

This will ensure that the nutrients are not washed away. You should also avoid the sun, as much as possible. Wear caps, or bring umbrellas, to protect your skin. Do not stay too long under the sun, especially between the time of 10 am and 4 pm.

Next, look for sunscreens that include protection not only from UVB rays, but also from UVA. An SPF rating only protects the skin from UVB rays. That means there should be not just an SPF but also a PA rating. These are available, but make sure you look for it. The higher the rating, the more protected you are from the skin damage that the sun will cause.

So now you have the basics of skin care. If you follow these suggestions, you get to protect your skin at no extra cost. And remember: do not be carried away by the latest and newest skin care product, which might not really give additional protection.
