Going Green in Luxurious Style With Infiniti’s Sleek and Powerful Hybrid – The 2011 M35h

The market is demanding hybrid vehicles and car companies are stepping up to deliver. Infiniti is expecting to release its first ever electric vehicle, the M35h, for sale in the U.S in the spring of 2011. Often hybrid vehicles will sacrifice their appearance and power for funky aerodynamics and fuel efficiency but not this car. nfiniti is well known for its exquisite and powerful cars and the M35h isn’t any different. This is a hybrid vehicle which definitely emphasizes performance, good looks and lots of engine power while still being very efficient. It has been aptly dubbed as “The Driver’s Hybrid”. The M35h makes its grand public debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show.

Let’s take a closer look at the engine and motor that propels this car. The engine is a powerful 3.5 Liter six cylinder engine with 302 horsepower. The vehicle will make use of a 50 kw electric motor and be available with a seven speed automatic transmission. The motor engine produces 258 lb feet of torque and the battery powered electric motor outputs 199 lb feet. The M35h will weigh in at around 265 lb more than a standard M37 car and this is because of the fact that hybrids are generally heavier versus traditional cars. Estimated fuel economy is at approximately 32 mpg; official gas mileage numbers have not been released yet.

The M35H does not skimp on top speeds or power at all even though it’s a hybrid; she can effortlessly travel from zero to sixty in 5.9 seconds and reach speeds of up to 155 mph. These are exceptionally fast speeds for a hybrid vehicle. What’s really innovative about the M35h is its unique braking and steering wheel systems which both increase efficiency. The brakes utilize the Electric Driven Intelligence Brake System which charges the battery pack whenever pressure is applied to the brakes while the steering mechanism is a combination of an electric and a hydraulic system.

A Premium trim will be available which will include deluxe features such as a Bose premium audio system, Active Noise Control, an advanced navigation system and a Lane Departure warning system. The auto will also showcase Infiniti’s advanced climate control settings with Forest Air, which leaves the interior smelling like a calm forest breeze. The interior will be roomy with sufficient space to seat five persons.

Infiniti has not released prices yet but automotive experts have estimated it to be around the 50k mark. This vehicle is suitable for the individual who wants an eco-conscious car yet does not want to sacrifice on aesthetics, speed, power and luxury. Many hybrid vehicles sacrifice aesthetics for aerodynamic purposes but the M35h doesn’t; it’s assertive, powerful and unabashedly decadent.
