The 2010 Nissan Altima Is A Sedan With Lots Of Spirit

Nissan is well known for its high quality and efficient vehicles, and the Altima is certainly no exception. This vehicle has a solid history and was first unveiled to the public in 1993. The Altima line is a step above Nissan’s Sentra, although it’s not as upscale as the Maxima. The Altima offers sufficient seating for five individuals and functions well as an all-around family car. However, it still offers a joyful and sporty drive due to its smooth handling and capable engine. In terms of looks, this auto is rather sporty and sports an aggressive and bold stance. This auto competes in the affordable midsize sedan market and goes head to head with cars such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Chevy Malibu. You can choose from three different trim levels; the base 2.5 version, the 2.5S model and the 3.5SR model which comes with a six cylinder engine. The 2.5S model is also available with a Limited Edition optional package which adds in sixteen inch alloy wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler, a steering wheel crafted in leather and audio knobs on the steering wheel.

Two engine choices are in place for you to select from. The first choice is a V4 2.5 Ltr cylinder with 175 hp. In terms of a daily driver, the four cylinder version is suggested because it’s more efficient when it comes to gas. Fuel economy stands at 23 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the freeway, which is quite respectable in its class. The second option is a more powerful V6 3.5 Ltr cylinder with 270 HP. The Altima is available with a Continuously Variable Transmission which doesn’t require shifting and allows for improved acceleration.

Let’s take a look at the interior; it’s comfortable, spacious and well engineered. If you choose the premium interior package you receive leather appointed seats and wooden accents throughout the cabin. The Push Button Ignition comes as a standard feature and allows you to start the vehicle without inserting a key. The optional navigation system can be activated via voice and utilizes a high tech touch screen. You can even add in a nine speaker Bose audio system for the ultimate sound experience. There is ample of trunk space available at 15.3 cubic feet.

You can feel safe inside this auto knowing that a large number of safety mechanisms have been installed. The air bags system comes with six bags and active head restraints which automatically adjust for ultimate protection during impact. All models come with a special system designed to make the installation of child seats easy. Vehicle dynamic control adjusts for understeer and oversteer situations while the Electronic Brake Force Distribution System works to adjust brake pressure as needed.

When it comes to family sedans most are subdued and quiet but the Altima is a lot more spirited and offers a bit of a kick. This is a sedan that is not only practical and efficient but also a ton of fun to drive. The 2010 Altima is probably one of the sportier vehicles in its class when compared with its competitors such as the Accord or Camry. The base price starts at around $19,900, a great price for a ride that is great on gas and a thrill to take out on the road.
