Enough Already Chlorine!

Who are we kidding? Sure, chlorinated pools is kind of a tradition but if truth be told; does anybody in the face of the Earth really likes them anymore? Chlorinated pools are not only a pain in the neck but also to our health and wallets. Come on, let us just admit it — let us just admit why we are starting to hate chlorine so much. Well, some of you may have even hated chlorine for several years now. Come on do not be ashamed. Just spit out. Take a stand. Your chlorinated pool won’t hurt you. Oh it has? Tsk, tsk, tsk. That’s what I’ve been saying all this time.

A lot of people are afraid to get rid of their chlorinated pools. Well, if you are one of these pool owners, I only have one crucial question for you — W H Y ? Why be afraid to change your water sanitation method into a healthier and a more cost effective one? Maybe you need some reminiscing darling. Here are probably some of the reasons why you hate your chlorinated pool so much:

– Chlorine treated pools constantly need many, many types of pool chemicals to aid them with water sanitation. I mean, all right already! Algaecide, calcium increaser, pH increaser or decreaser, water clarifier, water hardener, stain, metal and scale control, pool/water shock, alkalinity increaser and much, much more are needed! Where in Heaven’s name does chlorine really get off? Geez!

– With a lot of chemicals come a lot of spending and tremendous confusion. You never truly have the idea which chemical is for which and how much, how often or how many to apply to the water. And in addition, you actually do not have a choice but to constantly and continuously purchase these chemicals. I mean really, aren’t you just exhausted just thinking about it? Enough already chlorine!

– Still, after putting in what seems to be a truckload of powders and liquids of chemicals in the water, you still read (as per your water test strips’ results) that your water is still not safe to use. You’re surely going to be like “Are you freaking kidding me?” Yeah I know. When does the chemicals’ application stop?

– As per experimentations and tests, it has been stated and proven that chlorine does not have full power or capacity to kill and destroy bacteria and microorganisms present in the pool water. Quite interestingly, chlorine attaches itself to a single microorganism and then eventually kills it. The irritating truth is that once the chlorine kills a microorganism, it will become null. This means that chlorine becomes worthless after killing some of the microorganisms in your pool. Again — SOME, NOT ALL. This is the reason why you need to constantly add chlorine tablets or powder in your water. You always need to maintain a high amount of free chlorine in order to kill all microorganisms. I bet by now you’re going like “Oh GOD, so this is why my chlorine reading is always unstable?” Yup, it’s the nasty truth.

– As you may already know or have experienced, chlorine is very hard for our bodies to tolerate. Red, eyes, dried out skin and hair, allergies and infections — haven’t you had enough already?

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO MAKE THE SWITCH. Come on my friend and say goodbye to that chlorinated pool of yours! Take the stand and do what’s best for you and your pool!
