Getting Pregnant the High Tech Way

Finding out that a woman is unable to conceive in the natural way is probably one of the hardest things that a woman will ever have to go through in her life. The divine right of having a child is what makes us human. However, for some unlucky people, this becomes a bit of an uphill task and they very often have to resort to medical intervention when all else fails. For couples or women who need to seek out this help, try looking for IVF or infertility on the internet to see which clinics offer these services in the local area.

There can be many different reasons why a woman cannot conceive. The one thing that is common to most women though is that they blame themselves for past behavior or something they did while they were young. This is not necessarily true, of course, but this is part of the guilt that women feel when they cannot produce offspring without the intervention of doctors. It may well be that the partner in the relationship has some problems too. Men who had mumps or some other kind of disease at the wrong time may well have been rendered incapable of impregnating a woman by the side effects of the disease. For men who are not aware of this, finding out can be just as devastating particularly if the couple have been talking about having children from the onset of their relationship.

To be told that this is never going to happen is a big drawback to the couple so they will have to make some difficult decisions if they really want to have a child. In fact, they may have to resort to obtaining donor sperm so that nature can take its course. For the man, this is particularly difficult but some come to terms with it once the child is born and is being cared for in the home.

What the doctors will do is to harvest eggs from the woman and mix them together in clinical conditions to ensure that fertilization takes place. Once fertilized, the embryos are then checked for viability before some are put in the womb and some frozen for future tries should the first one not succeed. After this, the pregnancy should proceed as normal as long as the woman is healthy. Sometimes the embryos do not embed in the womb and the woman will experience a miscarriage. This can be rather distressing, but she will be ready to try the whole procedure again before too long.

The days of multiple births have really gone now since no one really wants between five and eight babies at any one time. They will normally put in one to three embryos at a time to ensure that the babies will have a good chance of surviving and being healthy.

Hopefully, if the woman is careful about her health, the couple will end up with what they have been longing for with no need to repeat the process.
