Internet Marketing Strategies – 6 Low To No Cost Proven Methods

We\’ve all heard about it, we\’ve all searched for it. Many have entitled it as the \”unicorn\”; that thing you always hear about in stories but you know doesn\’t exist. Fortunately, this is not a unicorn. Free methods of marketing are always available for everyone to use. You telling your neighbor about a product you\’re selling; that\’s free.

But THESE are the most effective forms of marketing on the internet up-to-date. Most are free to start; actually all of them are free to start. But as you progress and your marketing savvy reaches all-time high conceited levels, you\’ll soon find out that by turning \”no cost\” into \”low cost\”, you\’ll be generating more potential customers by the cent.

1. Article Writing and Submission

I wrote an article awhile back on how to effectively write an article, but I suppose I never told you what to do with it. Articles, hands down, may be the best form of free marketing out there, primarily because its distribution is practically limitless. Publishers such as E-Zine Articles and Go Articles use your content and then relay it to their subscribers and/or visitors. What\’s the upside? These companies are already well established, generating traffic of upwards of a million visitors a day. But like I explained in my previous article, your content is what separates you from them. And they\’re poor.

Whether you are promoting your own products or are an affiliate to another company, be sure to use the resource boxes supplied by the publisher. Also, require that your article is published \”as-is\”, and attached with your credentials. Always protect what\’s yours.

Here\’s a good example of a resource box you can model after:

Google, in this day and age, might be able to find the answer to Pi. By simply typing in \”ezine publishers\” you can begin to organize a list of potential publishers as well as article directories.

HINT HINT: Search Google for your keywords to discover who the top websites are in your niche (they\’ll be on the first page), then submit your articles for them to publish on their sites. This will not only give you an excellent stream of traffic for years to come, but the link pointing back to your site is nice to have too; especially if they hold the first few spots!

2. Participate In Forums

Just as every person has a soul mate, every topic has a forum. Forums are almost always free to join and is a proven method that can implemented immediately. The more time you spend in a forum, the more recognition you earn in your particular field. Similar to articles, most forums will provide you with a \”sig file\”, which is basically the equivalent of a resource box. Use the previous resource box as a guide, giving a brief description of your site and your web address.

HINT HINT: You want to approach forums more cautiously than you do articles. When people read an article, it\’s most likely because they wanted to read it. Your posts on a forum are completely different. In a nutshell, YOU HAVE TO SELL YOURSELF, WITHOUT SELLING YOURSELF.

You can do this in a variety of ways; answer questions, ask questions, make random conversation, say something wildly ridiculous. The goal of using forums is to attract attention and gain maximum exposure. But you shouldn\’t outright say \”I have a product I\’m trying to sell here.\” Act like one of them. They all know how to read your sig box don\’t worry.

3. Create A BLOG

Blogging BRANDS you as an expert. And if you look around, branding is a pretty good thing. I say \”soda\” you think Pepsi. I say \”phone\” you think iPhone. By blogging on a particular subject, people begin recognizing you as \”that guy\” or \”that girl\” whose life knows nothing else. And thus, when I say \”X\” they think \”You.\” The more astute Webmasters use their blogs to promote their websites, review products, and establish better customer relations. In the end, more money is really what it comes down to.

4. Syndicate Your Content

You know that symbol you see on websites that looks like a dolphin\’s sonar? That\’s RSS. And quite honestly, I never exactly understood what it meant until I began writing this article. RSS is ideal for collecting and sharing frequently updated information and has the ability to increase traffic exponentially…literally…overnight.

In non-robotic terms, RSS feeds \”push\” content you have developed to other places such as blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and basically any website that needs a LOT of content. More importantly, it allows people to take your posts and/or articles and publish it on their own personal sites while providing a link back to the source, which would be your website. The end result: more exposure, more incoming links, and more traffic with no additional effort.

HINT HINT: If you already have content published and not yet converted into RSS format, Content Builder Pro provides a desktop program called \”My RSS Converter.\” I\’ve mentioned them before in a previous article as being the \”article editing champs,\” but apparently they do more than that. Two or three clicks will convert any HTML webpage you have into RSS. Get Some Traffic.

5. Join Social Networking Sites

This is pretty self-explanatory but still worth mentioning. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and every other mainstream social network should be in your arsenal of marketing. It can link to RSS feeds and be treated much like a forum; two for one.

6. Publish an E-Report or E-book

I saved this for last on purpose. Let me start by saying: it \”IS\” the most well proven formula for promoting anything and everything online. I repeat; the most well proven formula. Part of the reason this area has seen so much success is because not many people know how to do it, and if they do, they don\’t do it effectively. Still, it is my obligation to show you the pros and cons of this particular area and hopefully guide you through the book writing process.

THE PROS

Command Respect

Creating a digital report or e-book advances you to a higher level of authority. Not many can say they have authored a book on any subject and not many will. But most will take the time to read one, and as an author, you command enough respect to have your offers heard.

Low Level of Difficulty

It isn\’t as difficult as one might assume. The blueprint of a book is basically the same as an article. Use PLR articles to research a specific area, and reword it to your liking. Just make sure you know what you\’re talking about and be sure your information is correct. Throw false factoids around and it\’ll leave your entire work questionable. Your Book

You own the all the rights, so use it in whatever fashion you see fit. You can give it away as a promotional product, use it as a bonus with other offers, or simply sell it. So long as you have it, it is your weapon and no one else\’s. Like I said, not many people are authors.

THE CONS

Cost of Fame

It may be considered too expensive for some if you don\’t have the right programs. Adobe InDesign, which is the prestige class in the field of book-making, can cost anywhere between $300 and $400. Not to mention it takes some getting used to. You can, however, sidestep this if you have a program able to convert your content into PDF format. If you weren\’t already aware, PDF files are recognized as the universal form for digital reports and books.

Time is Money

Writing a book doesn\’t happen overnight. It doesn\’t happen over-week either. Not only is your written content important, but the manner in which it is displayed is equally crucial. Take into account your cover page, font, pictures, paragraph spacing, or any sort of word positioning. That list, alone, may be reason enough for many to completely shun the idea.

Ultimately, if book writing isn\’t for you, then don\’t force it. For those who dare try their hand at it, I GUARANTEE it\’ll pay a crazy amount of dividends.
