How Suitable is a Laptop Computer for the Work I Do?

Today’s computers are ample evidence of how far we have progressed in technology especially when you think how convenient and useful these machines are when it comes to carrying our daily tasks in the office and at home. Whether it’s case of typing out letters, editing them and having them printed in the blink of an eye or doing our shopping online, computers have made such a difference in our lives with portable machines such as the Laptop and Notebook computer allowing us to take our work as well as our leisure time activities with us wherever we go.

Buying a laptop computer however entails a big investment making it important to think well before choosing one for your own use. If you’re buying it only for the purpose of checking e-mails, and surfing the web, there’s no need to go for a high-end model with lots of additional software that would cost you a lot of money for no purpose. There are various models of laptops and Notebooks that can be bought for a reasonable amount if you do some research to look for the most suitable model for your needs.

As you most probably know by now, the Notebook computer and the Netbook have almost the same features as the laptop with the only variations being the sizes they come in. The Laptop computer is the largest in size and the most expensive of the three and unless you need it for a specific purpose you would be much better off with the smaller size Notebook computer which usually comes with a 10″ to 11″ screen and has all the hardware you need for your day to day work. It’s also easier to carry being smaller in size than the laptop and is definitely cheaper than the former.

The Notebook is the ideal machine for those who’re interested in creating graphics, and video editing among other stuff that requires a lot of RAM and a powerful graphics card due to having a relatively larger hard drive and storage capacity than the laptop and the netbook. Being able to run heavy programs is one of its main advantages of the Notebook computer although the same cannot be said about its battery life which drains off very quickly, maybe due to the heavy programs run on it.

For someone always on the move, the Netbook computer will prove to be the best investment because of its very small size; i.e. 8″ to 10″ screen and ultra light weight making it possible to carry it round in your handbag or your backpack. Many folks buy the Netbook because of the convenience it offers so that they can check on things instantly while being able to do some urgent work on the go as well, after which it can be copied to the hard drive of the desktop PC at home to continue with the work.

As you can see, all three types have their own uses and it’s up to you to decide which best suits your requirements and your budget. Battery life is an important aspect of any portable computer you buy whether it’s a laptop, notebook or netbook, especially if you don’t think you’ll get a chance to charge the device while on the move. So check carefully before you buy in order to have no regrets later on.
