Junior Golf Webinars

More and more juniors are learning the game by using new technology. This includes junior golf webinars, video instruction, golf apps, smart phones, lap tops and IPAds. This generation is not afraid to use all of this newer technology to learn new skills as they have grown up having it around them all of the time. Below are some of the questions that we get about a junior golf webinars and our memberships:

What is discussed during junior golf webinars?

This will depend on how the “host” sets it up. Many times the webinar will begin with a presentation and will be followed by a question and answer period. At this point, the golfer will have access the instructor via a text/chat or by video. This will depend on the technology that the instructor is using. So what is being discussed can really be anything. The instructor may have a topic or it could be an open discussion of the full swing, putting stroke, junior golf equipment or simply how to game more fun while learning and playing the game.

What are the advantages to junior golf webinars?

This form of learning has many advantages. First of all, a student can learn at their own pace. Although you may be in a seminar with many others, you will have the ability to ask questions and get the answers right away. Second, by using this format to learn opens up the possibility of who you can receive golf instruction from as proximity is no longer a concern. Your instructor may be literally across the country but the technology is allowing the two of you to get together. Third, most of the time, the cost to attend these events are much less than taking private lessons. Fourth, this format is convenient for you because you can watch the webinar live or you can watch a reply of it. SO you literally have instruction at your fingertips on your timeline, not someone else’s.

What age should they start participating in junior golf webinars?

This is a great question that we hear quite a bit. Obviously, the student needs to be old enough to understand how to operate the technology needed whether it be a smart phone, IPad or lap top. In addition, the maturity level of the student should be taken in to consideration. Being a parent myself, I know that this may be difficult for a parent to judge of their own child but it is an important factor. Does the student have the patience to watch, listen and learn? The maturity for children to do this happens at different ages. It is important to determine, as if they are not ready, they may get turned off to the game since it becomes something boring to do and that is not the intention.

Do not be afraid to let your kids use technology to learn how to play the game of golf. Depending on where you live, they may be able to obtain online golf instruction from instructors that were previously not accessible due to the distance or cost to you.
