The Fat-Free Body

It’s impossible to be fat and be healthy. You are either fat or you’re healthy. Most people don’t like to use the word fat, and instead will describe themselves as overweight, large sized, out sized, curvy, or real (as in “I’m a real woman”).

But be honest truth is, it’s fat. You eat fat and it gets stored on your body. But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can have a fat-free body, and it’s easy. Really!

A healthy body is fat-free. By that I mean you don’t have excess fat (from your diet) stored on your body. If you’re fat, you’re not healthy. You can call yourself big, curvy, overweight, large boned, or whatever else you want to say out loud. But inside, you know you’re fat. AND you also know that you don’t want to be that way.

If a doctor offered you a pill and said that if you take it, all the excess fat would drop of your body and you’d be slim and healthy would you take it? Of course you would. Who wouldn’t? And this proves that you don’t want to be carrying around excess fat. You want a fat-free body. But what you don’t want is to have to work to have it.

But change is easy. I can explain it to you in one sentence.

If you don’t want to be fat, don’t eat fat and don’t eat sugar.

There. How easy was that? Sounds simple doesn’t it? That’s because it is.

And this is how you do it.

You start by making better choices at the supermarket. Many people, and maybe you, talk about being ‘tempted’ to overeat or binge and say it’s not your fault that you eat too many fatty foods. But it’s not a sudden temptation that you can’t overcome. It’s planned. It starts at the supermarket where you buy your food that you plan to eat later.

So start by making better choices at the supermarket next time you shop. Spend more time buying fresh fruit and veg. don’t buy meat. Have more vegetable-based meals instead.

Don’t buy takeaways. Takeaway food is never slimming. Kebabs, fish and chips, pizza, fried chicken, burgers meals…these are all designed to make you put on weight. So cut out the takeaways for a while at least, and make a few vegetable stir-fry, vegetable wraps and vegetable pasties instead. You can also cut down on the usual fatty foods on your plate and have more vegetables instead.

Speaking of plates, get smaller plates. Some dinner plates are huge and make your food look small. Instead, use smaller plates so you’re not tempted to over eat.

Cut out desserts. If you crave sugary foods, make desserts a once a week/month treat. Not a 3-times a day normal diet. Try snacking on dried dates and figs instead. They are sweet without being fattening. Grapes are also a sweet treat you can enjoy any time.

But it’s not just your diet that has to change. You need a complete change of mind. Stop thinking that if you diet now you can binge later. That’s just sabotaging yourself. And even if you fall off the healthy diet wagon, you can still get back on instead of giving up.

Just be honest with yourself about how much you want to have a fat-free body. You need to want to achieve it as much as you need to breathe. And until it becomes that important to you, you’ll never achieve it.

Get yourself motivated. Think of how great it’s going to be once you achieve it. Go into clothing stores and look at the small size clothing and really imagine yourself being able to fit into it. You can do it if you want it badly enough.

Be determined to change you eating habits by not buying self-sabotaging foods. Start seeing fruit and vegetables as your ally, not your enemy. The food you’re eating now is your enemy. Stop letting them in.

Embrace the changes you’re about to make.

Eat less pies and pizzas and steak and eat more salad, beans, vegetables and legumes instead.

At first the change will feel uncomfortable. All change feel uncomfortable at first. But it doesn’t hurt and it won’t kill you.

You just need to get over it and learn to love it.
