A Child’s Christmas Tree

At the beginning of December, many of us start looking for that perfect Christmas tree for our family. Many of us could debate for hours on if artificial or real Christmas trees are the best, but what truly makes a Christmas tree are the decorations. For families with children, nothing is more fun than getting the Christmas tree set up and prepared for hanging ornaments. One of the only problems, however, is deciding what type of tree you want that year, especially if you want a tree that is friendlier for children. Luckily, there are many fun Christmas tree themes that children are sure to love!

Toy Christmas Tree

When many of us think of a child friendly Christmas tree, we think of a toy Christmas tree. These ornaments range from anything from rag doll ornaments to some of our children’s favorite toys. Many adults grew up with a toy Christmas tree, making it a traditional theme that many children love. When looking at creating a toy themed Christmas tree, look for ornaments with toys your child recognizes, and consider decorating the underneath of the tree with toys and stuffed animals. To add the finishing touch to this tree, consider adding a train see that goes around the tree.

Santa Christmas Tree

Probably the second most popular Christmas tree theme for children and adults is a Santa Claus Christmas tree. While these ornaments look very cute, it is very easy to overdo Santa on this type of tree. Instead of making a whole tree with Santa ornaments, consider spreading different types of toy ornaments and elf ornaments around the tree. This will give a fun look to the tree that children are sure to love! If you are having problems finding the right ornaments, do a combination Toy and Santa tree. Your children will love it!

Cartoon Christmas Tree

Over the past few years, many toy companies have been creating their own Christmas ornaments for kids. This makes it possible for adults to create a Christmas tree with their child’s favorite toys. Some of the more popular themes include Barbie trees, Hello Kitty trees, Hot Wheels trees, and many other popular toy trees. While these trees can look very cute, be careful since many of these ornaments can include small pieces that can be choking hazards for children. As well, these ornaments are usually more expensive than other traditional ornaments. If you would like to have a character Christmas tree, you may want to consider building it over time.

Homemade Ornament Christmas Tree

While it is always easy to go out and buy ornaments, nothing looks better than a homemade Christmas tree. Children love to make homemade ornaments and decorate their family tree with their own creations. Unlike commercial Christmas trees, these trees are unique and have your own family’s personal touch. Even though they are a bit more time consuming to make, they are worth the memories since children usually remember these homemade trees more than more commercial family Christmas tree decorations.

Christmas is a time for children. Be sure to include your children in all the decorating that you do in your home.
