Curry powder and curry sauce are another great example of an amazing and affordable way to spice up a meal. Curry can be used on any meat and even vegetables, rice and in soups. There are also different stir fry type sauces ranging from Teriyaki, sweet and sour, garlic honey, peanut Thai sauce. All of these can make a simple meal become something special.

The Hispanic section of a grocery store has a lot to offer as well. Hot sauces and marinades are a good staple to keep at home. It’s easy to make a quick meal when the tools are available. Enchiladas and tortilla casseroles can be a snap with the right sauces.

Homemade jellies and preserves are very easy to make, there are a lot of resources online to do this. Garlic and ginger can be ground up and made into a paste. The lack of preservatives and weird chemical names are left out when the cook makes it fresh at home.
