All About Solar Energy Training

Solar energy is energy from the sun. It has been around since the 50’s and is now used more and more to cut our energy footprint. Solar energy has been used mainly for homes in the past, but in the last 15 years researchers have started attempting to use solar energy to power vehicles as well as businesses. This advancement is creating a need for new people who are educated in the many aspects of solar power to create better and more efficient technology. Solar energy training is a new and exciting field of study, which can lead to a new and exciting career.

There are two different degree fields that one can pursue with solar energy training. One can either choose solar voltaic or solar thermal power, or perhaps you would rather just take individual solar energy classes. Once you decide which field you wish to major in or how many classes you wish to enroll in you will need to apply to a school that offers solar energy training. There aren’t a lot of schools to choose from so do some research online or at your local library before making up your mind which one works best for you.

There is however a lot of classes being offered that specialize in solar energy training. The courses can focus on the basics of electricity to the more advanced photovoltaic systems. Or you may choose to study the design and installation of active and passive solar energy systems just to get your feet wet.

Once your solar training and certification are completed, there are many opportunities for employment available to you, with the career field growing more and more every day. The average pay you can expect after becoming certified ranges from 37,000 dollars to 60,000 dollars a year, depending on the extent of your training. The career fields available to people who have complete a certified solar energy training program have a wide range as well. Employees entering the field with certification can choose from basic entry level installers, Silagra to the more advanced side of designing and creating new technologies. Opening your own design and installation business is also an option as the field is still new enough that the demand would support an independent small business.

However one must understand that just because they have completed their certification, it doesn’t mean that their days of study are over. Since solar technology is still in the infant stages there will be a lot of new technology that will require more education and new opportunities will available. Some of that technology will be in the form of solar powered electric vehicles. Also, solar panels are going to be getting smaller which will multiply the various ways they can be used. And we can’t forget that companies are trying to go green, so the applications and uses of the sun to cool, heat, and even light those companies buildings will grow significantly.
