“Kickboxing Your Way to a Great Body, From the Comfort of Your Home!”

The best way to begin, is to wear comfortable, form fitting clothing that you can easily move in. Be sure to wear comfortable walking or cross-training shoes, which will support your feet and ankles.

Stretch your legs and arms before you begin. The more you stretch, the less sore you will be tomorrow!

If your body is not properly stretched, lactic acid will build up in your muscles after working out, and will cause residual discomfort. This can easily be avoided with a pre and post stretching session.

Once you begin, you will find there are four basic punches that you will use in your routines. The basic jab is the first.

One technique that will increase the power behind your punch, is to put your hips into every movement. When your arm punches forward, thrust your accompanying hip forward.

The second punch you will use is a cross, which uses your other hand to cross your body. Be sure to put your hips into this punch as well, for optimal effects.

The third punch, a hook, is essentially a round-house punch to the head, in an arching motion. Tightening your abdominal muscles will help you to put the right amount of power into this move.

The last punch is an uppercut. It is a rising strike to the chin, from underneath. This is a great way to strengthen your pectoral muscles.

While you use these moves, you will be alternating different kicks into a routine as well. Start slowly, and as you gain flexibility, your skill will increase.
