You may have to share dorms with fellow teachers both foreign and local; eat in common mess halls and bathe in communal showers. This may be a bit uncomfortable for you if you come from a reserved culture but this shouldn’t put you off. The only thing demanding about teaching skiing are the work hours. In Japan, tremendous stress is placed on diligence and efficiency. You need to work for about 8 hours a day starting from 8:30 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon for 6 days a week. You may sometimes be asked to work beyond the regular shift. During work hours, employees are expected to put all their energies into teaching and not in hanging around.

Despite the strict work requirements though, ski instructor jobs are still worth applying for because you get to enjoy as much as you can after work. As long as your shift is over, you can enjoy the snow on your own or with friends. You will also be permitted to explore and enjoy other forms of entertainment that may be available outside the resort you work in at your own expense.
