Arena football has started to gain a lot of popularity within the nation. There are a lot of people that have shown interest in the sport since it has been re-introduced.

Patu grew up in the Seattle area in Washington. When he was ten years old he started getting bored sitting at home all of the time.

He asked his mother to sign him up to play on the local football team. When he was in his first year of organized football he quit because he had not realized how hard he would have to work to be successful in football.

Unlike many other young athletes, Patu claims that his main influence and example came from his mother. His mom taught him that there was no limit to what he could do in life.

When he was young he did not watch a lot of pro baseball on television. Instead he would play “football” in his basement with his brother and a balled-up sock.

After playing through high school Patu decided that he was going to play at the University of Oregon. Oregon was a great school for him because he was able to play his hometown team every year.

The world of football did not let his accomplishments go unrecognized. Throughout his collegiate career he received many team and national honors.

During his off-season Patu jam packs his workouts full of strength and conditioning. He understands that he must have a lot of strength and stamina to be able to be successful on the field.

His workouts always prepare him for the field. Anything that he does in the off-season is to help him get his body and mind to perform on the field.

In the last arena football season the Colorado Crush won the AFL championship. For Patu winning that championship game made all of the time, blood, sweat and tears throughout the season well worth it.

After winning the championship game he took his family to a theme park and then visited with family. He was able to celebrate his win with those that he loves.
