As the dominance in the NFL continues to shift to the AFC to the NFC, the NFC is now stacked with potential title contenders. The Saints and Vikings are back in the mix, as are a few other teams with plenty of upside and talent that won’t make it easy on the defending Super Bowl champions. Here is how the NFC looks heading into the 2010 season:

5. Atlanta Falcons. Even with quarterback Matt Ryan struggling at times in his second year in the league, the Falcons still rattled off nine wins and nearly made the playoffs in 2009-10. There is definitely a steep drop-off from the Vikings to the Falcons in terms of overall talent, but the Falcons still have a very well-balanced team and a strong quarterback poised to have a bounce back season in 2010. I would be surprised if the Falcons didn’t take down one of the NFC Wild Card slots.

4. Minnesota Vikings. Considering the Vikings made it to the NFC Championship game in 2009, nearly beating the Saints in the process, there is good reason to think they will be among the best teams in the league yet again in 2010. Whether ranked third or fourth in the conference, the Vikings are still probably a top-five team in the entire league as the power continues to shift from the AFC to the NFC.

Brett Favre should be back under center, which will sell plenty of NFL tickets and give them a chance to win every Sunday. The Vikings have more overall Kamagra Gold talent than the Packers but their window to win a championship is already starting to close and Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback in the division. 3. Green Bay Packers. Without an offensive line last season, the Packers had one of the best offenses in the league because of Aaron Rodgers, winning 11 games in the process. Rodgers is good enough to be the best quarterback in the league for quite a while, and it could start this season. Their defense still has to be somewhat of a concern after getting shredded in the first round of the playoffs last season, but they won’t have to do much on the defensive end to bury teams considering how well they move the ball on offense. If the Packers can get the right pieces on defense in the next couple years, they will be good for a very long time.

2. Dallas Cowboys. The Vikings and Packers will also definitely have something to say in the NFC, but the Cowboys are the team that appears ready to make the biggest leap from last year. With the rest of the division all of a sudden in shambles, the NFC East is really the Cowboys’ division to lose. Quarterback Tony Romo had another very good season in 2009 and now he has an extra weapon to throw to in talented rookie Dez Bryant. The Cowboys could very well have the most explosive offense in the entire league and they have talent on the defensive side of the ball as well, giving them a legit chance to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

1. New Orleans Saints. After winning the Super Bowl last year, there’s no reason to think they won’t be the class of the NFC once again in 2010. Drew Brees is still in his prime and the Saints offense is all but unstoppable. Their defense isn’t spectacular, but they turn the ball over quite often and don’t have to completely shut down teams to win nearly every single week. I don’t see more than two or three losses on the Saints’ schedule in 2010.

Sleeper Teams:
The most difficult team to predict this season has to be the Philadelphia Eagles. After dealing Donavon McNabb within the division, they now turn to Kevin Kolb under center. I think the move was best for the long-term, but he’s probably in store for some growing pains in his first season as an NFL starter. The Eagles do have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, however, and if Kolb clicks they could very well be back in the playoffs in 2010.

With an offense that struggled at times in 2009, the 49ers still scored 49 more points last season than their opponents, which was just one less than division winner Arizona. If Smith can get it going during wideout Michael Crabtree’s first full season in the league, the 49ers could make some serious noise and have a good shot at winning the NFC West.
