Miami Dolphins – Shoring up the Defense

For the Dolphins, the 2010 Draft was all about shoring up the defensive line. Though they had few eye-opening selections, there can be no arguing that the team made the most of what was available to them. Going into the draft, they needed prescription cialis online added strength at defensive end and tackle, and managed to use their top selections to fill both needs. As a result, they should be in fine position to make improvements on their 2009 record Kamagra Gold of 7-9, providing that the team’s chemistry comes together in time.

Odrick’s a gem

At defensive tackle, there were few players with more potential than Penn State’s Jared Odrick. Renowned as a run-stopper on a run-stopping team, Odrick should be able to make a name for himself almost immediately in the National Football League. Many analysts believe that he has the potential to become a starter for the Miami defense very early in the 2010 campaign.

The Juggernaut

The defensive end position needs were addressed by the acquisition of Koa Misi, who played for the Utes. There is an opening on the team for Misi to play immediately, and you can be reasonably assured that he will make the most of his opportunity. His speed is such that he is difficult to stop once he has gained momentum, which could be an important factor in how much playing time the Dolphins decide to give him in his first NFL season.

The linebacker

Out of Iowa, AJ Edds managed to find his way onto the Dolphins roster as well. One of the surest tacklers on a Hawkeyes team noted for its strong tackling, Edds could prove to be a force among the line-backing corps. Though sometimes knocked for not delivering crushing blows during his tackles, there is no arguing that his sure hands and speed prevent the ball from getting past him.
Will the Dolphins be a better team as a result of the 2010 Draft? Undoubtedly, they will. Much of their success in the coming season, however, will depend upon how they fare in the competitive AFC East. The Patriots and Jets have owned the division of late, and it will take strong chemistry on the Dolphins’ part to reverse that trend.
